What Makes a Home a Home?
When a buyer states they are looking for a home; what does that mean?
It’s safe to say all buyers believe it’s the agents' job to help their clients find the perfect home that transcends the need for shelter—a haven where “space,” “things,” “relationships” meet. The ways in which we design and live in our homes are reflections of the world around us. How does an agent find that perfect home for his/her buyer?
By defining and understanding what’s important to the buyer. Again, home is not just a house; it’s a place centered on relationships, filled with things of sentimental value, mingling with family and neighbors or utilizing communal amenities, and holds of memories. It could be a large kitchen area, large family room, or a back yard with a pool.
As a realtor you’ll come across different requests when a buyer is searching for a home. People all over the world use similar words to describe the essence of what makes a home to them. Defining and understanding the clients’ needs will increase the chance of finding that perfect home. Ask questions, discover the needs, and make it happen!
