It is all about changing people's lives
An agent was working an open house when a young couple walked in with their daughter. "We're just looking, we've had financial problems, a foreclosure and we don't think we qualify for a mortgage. Our daughter has lukemia and the medical bills are really high. No one seems to be able to help." This agent took on the challenge. After some time, they qualified for a loan and purchased a home. It wasn't the high commission the agent was used to earning, but seeing the joy in their faces as they walked through their new home is what paid him more.
Going through our daily tasks of contacting our database, posting to social media, showing property and following up on inspection reports, we might overlook the compassion that compels us and forget how we as Realtors change people's lives. Whether it's a retiree's dream, first time buyers, growing families, vacation home or downsizing, people's lives change and the place they want to call home changes too.
Enjoy the freedom our industry gives us and the limitless income it provides. Just put the needs of your customer first and the commission and referrals will follow.
