You bought or sold the house, closing is weeks away, you’ve provided your mortgage lender with all the pertinent information and inspections are complete. NOW you have to focus on getting ready to move. If you’re moving across town and have strong friends to help and drive the u-haul, great! If you are moving across the country, you may be adventurous enough to rent a u-haul and drive it yourself, or there are moving companies that will bring the truck to your door, you load it and a professional driver delivers it to your new home for you to unload. Donate or give to friends and neighbors other items you don’t plan to sell but won’t be needed in your new home. Protect critical photos and files using a portable drive that you carry with you or upload to a free cloud server such as Dropbox or Google Drive. Hand carry valuables and important documents in the car or carry-on bag.
